Tire pressure monitor

Ok... I hear everyone talking abou tire pressure monitors! I have a ? I have an 03.5 and recently replaced my 18" stock wheels with aftermarket wheels. I dont have any problems or anything. Where is this sensor and why didnt my car sense anything different when I replaced the wheels?

Re: Tire pressure monitor

It's an intelligent sensor. It can tell wheater the tire is flat or if you just changed your wheels...

Re: Tire pressure monitor

It's a tire pressure sensor. It is inside the tire as part of the valve probably. If somehow whoever installed your new wheels was able to transfer them to your new wheels (nismos are compatible), then you would not see anything because they are still there. If they were not transfered, then the ECU probably readjusted to the lack of the signal.

i dont think the 03 or 03.5 comes with the sensor.
shud be a new feature for the 04.

i'm curious of how the instrument light looks for the sensor when it turns on....

Re: Tire pressure monitor

Have you driven your car for more than 45 minutes straight since you changed wheels? My winter wheels/tires do not have the tire pressure sensor. When I have those rims on, after I drive for 30-45 minutes straight, the low tire pressure light on the dash comes on. It then goes back off when I turn the car off and back on.

If you are not sure if your car is equiped with the tire pressure sensor system, try turning the car on, but do NOT start it. Check out the lights on the dash, and see if the low tire pressure light is on. I have attached a picture of that light from my owners manual.

Well, I tried to attach the picture, and it wouldn't work. There is a picture in your owner's manual.

Re: Tire pressure monitor

03.5's don't have the sensor, that's why you're not having problems.
