Lose the Spare Tire?

I'm driving on runflat tires. The other day I got a big nail in one of my tires. I pulled the nail out and psssssss all the nitrogen went out. The tire didn't go flat...so I drove to Infiniti and they put a new one on. I don't drive very far to work or anywhere for that matter. My question is...Should I take the spare tire and jack out of the car? What the heck...it's just more weight, and I really don't need it. Thanks..

i dont think the weight saving will be enough to justify not having a spare and jack! But hell do you!

Leave it in unless you have an all out show car.

Lose the spare tire....NOT!

Hell even if you have run flat tires AND the Auto Club if you destroy a tire you'll be on the hook and taken to a tire shop that's going to charge you major bucks because of your situation. Not a good idea, keep the tire in your car for extreme emergency's. It's the smart thing to do....

I had a Corvette with runflats and no spare. I'd enjoy the peace of mind having a spare. If you're tracking the car or have a reason to take it out that's up to you.

Looks like I'm in the minority. I say remove the spare and jack if you've got runflats. That's what they are for! Were they stock some year or did you just decide to trade up? What size rims and how's your ride?

Ive got 19s/front and 20s/rear. Had a blowout on the way to houston with, lowpro run flats and was able to use the spare donut to limp to the next town to a discount tire to get it fixed. DEF keep it, I never thought I'd need it, then again I never thought a tow truck driver would try to use a katana sword to take my wheel lugnut cover off either....but both happened on the same day.

Keep the spare and jack. That small of a weight difference is not going to be noticeable.. plus it's in the rear of the car, which is better for weight balancing front to rear.

If you puncture your sidewall, or have a blowout, it won't matter if your tires are runflats or regular tires.. the tire will be flat, and without a spare... you'll be SOL and at the mercy of someone tow truck or other automotive service to help you.
