need advice about g35
I currently own a g35 coupe in a 5at. I love the car and i feel very fortunate to own a car this great at a young age. When I first got the car I got it in a 5at because I heard the gear box was smooth enough where there wasn't a big difference between a 5at and a 6mt. I thought driving a 5at was good but I got to thinking that I'll get a new car after graduate school and by that time I'll be around 25 which means I'll marry soon after that. I wanted to own a stickshift car at least once in my life so if I were to trade in my 5at for a 6mt would I be taking about a 5000 dollar hit? Would be a wise move to trade my car in soon for a 6mt or keep it and buy a stickshift car for my next car? Thanks

well i think you'd be better off to get it when you graduate, becasue the G35 you have now is new and doesnt have much use out of it and you'll have lost alot of value of the car i think it would be smarter to wait, unless you can find some good deal

Screw that man! you need to stand for yourself....
Look at me, my wife doesn't know jack $hit about driving MTs, but I just had to have a manual gearbox.
Let your future wife have whatever car she wants and you drive whatever you want.
My point here is that you won't get too far with that kind of an attitude...LOL j/k

I'm in a similar dilema (finished school in oct. though), I also got 5AT because I am in traffic 2 hours a day and I am also not good at driving manual. People say you get better with time, but I've known people who've been driving stick for years and I feel like I'm getting whiplash when they drive. It's so bad that I don't want to drive with them, and I don't want people to feel like that when I drive.
However, after driving this car for 4K, I really regret not getting a manual. I just didn't expect it to be so sporty and now I feel like I'm missing out. Even one of the female friends I let drive it said that with a car this nice and like this it should be a manual.
Regardless, financially you have to make that decision yourself. For me it's too big of a hit because I'm saving for a condo right now and the $$ I'll lose just simply isn't worth it. It may worth it for you though, depending on how much you want it.
The way I'm ok with it though is I plan on picking up a slightly used (when this happens) 2005 6-speed w/navigation. That way I'll still be losing money, but not a gob right away and I'll get the extra hp, plus manual. I'll also be getting the feature I missed out on (the custom navigation job that I want doesn't seem to be possible).
It's up to you though and how bad you want it. Financially stick with what you've got, but you only live once so the $$ might be worth it. I say I want an automatic mon-fri, but a manual on the weekends. I'm just gonna get a manual next time and deal with it!

That new nissan coming out the r35 I believe in 2007 is there an estimate of how much power and price will be? After driving my g35 coupe I want my next car to be a coupe as well.

I was faced with a simliar issue a few years ago when I bought an Acura NSX. It was my dream car. I was also dating my dream girl. I decided to opt for the sport stick AT which meant I could keep my right hand on my girl's thigh. Much better feeling than a gear shift ****.
