Sad but have to

After 5 years and 129K miles being the owner of the 2004 coupe. I had to let it go and find something else better for the family. The newest gen of the G35X is out of my budget, the previous is a little out of taste. On the search for a nice family car, but here's my last shot of my mileage. =)

Family Car....anything with a back seat!

Vhtran, a family car is anything with a back seat unless you have more than 2 children. Then you'll be looking at one of those socker mom vehicles with the sliding doors, squeaks and rattles. Doesn't sound like the kinda car/van a previous G35 pilot would enjoy driving....

No, no socker mom's car. Even a nice SUV like the FX is not yet on my list, unless it's a Porsche =) . For now, i'm loooking into the 2.7T S4 avant or so.

New S4's are 4.2L 8 cylinder. If you're looking at the 2.7T it's probably going to have higher mileage than your G. Here's a start

Why are people nervus about 129K? I only have 42k but I would still love it at 142K. My first Nissan had 250k+ when I traded it in and they were not highway miles. I gave that thing a beating every day!

How about the new 2009 Subaru WRX?

My friend just bought one about 5 months ago..... and that thing frickin cranks, although it's not the prettiest car in the world. It has a lot of room for a small car too, and the 2009's have the same engine(2.5 Boxer) and turbo as the STI's, but with the boost turned down. On the downside, it's got a 5-speed instead of a 6-speed if you opt for the manual gearbox. I think they're rated at around 270 HP too.... and Subaru has real good reliability ratings lately.

Gary
SUV > minivan

I'll probably be getting a pathfinder or a QX soon enough as a second vehicle. I'm 22 and single, so no kids...but I've got two very large dogs and the G isn't the best way to transport them.

btw, it's soccer, not socker. (<-- your favorite smilie Gary )

Thanks again guys for the input. I would love to try the STi too, but the boss does not like the hood scoop. 129K on my G was still very healthy. Anyway, I've found a few candidates. As of right now, I'm eye-ing on this 2007 M35x and they're tagging the price @ $22,990, fully loaded (Nav + back up cam) and 23K miles on the clock. Does this sound right to you? Here's the Vin if someone willing to help me out JNKAY01F37M455524 .. thanx in advance.

BTW, what engine does the 2007 M35x use anyway? Old VQ35DE?

Yeah, pretty tuft letting her go. Last Sat. I had on call for work, looked at her one last time before I left. Went back and she's gone. Suck part is that today I have to give the guy another set of key and he drove my used to be baby to pick it up at my work. Cried inside.

Out of range for anything that's over $25K. =)
