Car wouldn't start

My car would not start after I filled up gas. I started it two times but it just would struggle. Finally, i waited for a minute and tried again.......this time it worked. Whats wrong with my car? I remember reading something about the sensor problem. Do the dealers fix this problem?

it's all part of the warranty. Take it to your dealer asap! and tell them about the situation.

Is the gas cap on good? Open the gas door, remove the cap and put the cap back on and turn it until it clicks 5+ times. Give it a try again.

Sometimes the gas cap is not on properly and the car will not start...

There is a sensor that monitors this? Wow... that's cool. Usually in the city of NY, I see gas caps off peoples cars and I laugh at that

Re: Car wouldn't start

I have a 2004 G35 Coupe. Went to get gas, pullup to the pump, open gas door, remove gas cap, oops wrong pump, so I get back in my car and start it, and yes it starts (gas cap still off). Is there something wrong with my G then?

I'm not 100% sure if this applies to the G, but it has on all my previous ones, so here goes.

Your car runs periodic checks on the vacuum of the gas tank. If it fails, you get a blinking engine light or a bad start. It's not a constant check, rather a "every 30 seconds at most" thing, so you could very easily start your car without the gas cap on, assuming it hasn't been sitting in the "on" position for more than a couple minutes without a vacuum in the gas tank.
