Re: will Nissan / Infiniti address the 6MT vibrati
i think discriminating buyers is the reason why we all have such a great selection of quality cars for under $40K in the marketplace right now. just because a car is really good doesn't mean Infiniti shouldn't try to iron out any wrinkles. i knew everybody would get defensive, but you just love your car and thats all good
Re: will Nissan / Infiniti address the 6MT vibration?
I read a very in dept article on this issue while waiting on my 350Z to be delivered. They knew about vibration peaking at 4800 RPM if I remember correctly. They said they could have added some rubber to tone it down, but made a conscience decision to leave it in because the rubber would have given a less precise feel to the gear shifts. I like it, and have no problem as well.
Re: will Nissan / Infiniti address the 6MT vibration?
I've been amazed/horrified at the various threads on vibration, hard shifting and other tranny woes. Sounds like a whole different car from the one I drive every day! In 35 years of driving manuals, the 6mt has the sweetest feel of any car I've had to row thru the gears. Missed a gate downshifting a time or ten, but hey, my bad.
How can Nissan's QC allow such wide variations?

Re: will Nissan / Infiniti address the 6MT vibrati
Mine's PERFECT. I wouldn't change it for anything. If I wanted a vibrationless shifter that communicated nothing of what was going on in the tranny, I'd have chosen the 5AT slushbox.
Re: will Nissan / Infiniti address the 6MT vibrati
I believe that the vibration in some 6MT's must be much more than mine. I can not believe that anyone could object the vibration in mine. I have only driven my own 6MT and one that I test drove.
I suggest that you try driving another 6MT to see if there is somthing wrong with yours.

Re: will Nissan / Infiniti address the 6MT vibration?
It is normal cause the shifter is directly connected to the transmission...thats why the shifter vibrates...on hondas/acuras that have a cable link shifter to do the shifts it doesnt vibrate cause its not directly connected
Northface
No Honda/Acura has both ways cable AND shift linkage. Trust me
