06 headlights on 03 Coupe, how to disable DRL
Hi!
This subject was discussed many times but i can't find a question.
Please help me! And sorry for bad English.
I got Canadian 03 Coupe and I bought 06 headlights. The problem is left turn signal doesn't work properly. I found a DIY in this forum but it's too difficult, and additionally I don't want and I don't need to keep a DRL function.
My question is can I simply disable DRL function with some method?
Also I have one conjecture: what if I just cut a wire (or close the circuit) from Parking Brake Switch to Daytime Light Control Unit? Or what is I just disconnect Daytime Light Control Unit?
Thank you!

not really sure what kind of problems youre running into..i have an 05 with an 07 hl swap and i had no issues, ive also swapped with a few 06 sets in the past
The headlight swap is completely different on Canadian cars - since we have daytime running lights (DRL's). If you try and install USDM '06 projectors on a Canadian car, the lights will not function properly without some re-wiring (there is a DIY on this forum - if you aren't sure how to do it, take the DIY to a good shop and they should do it for you - I've heard of labour charges of $350 to $750). If you don't feel like doing this (and do not wish to have DRL's), you can unplug the fuse for the DRL's (see map on fuse box cover) - although the problem with this (at least for the 2005 model) is that the DRL fuse is linked with the power seats (I've heard that this is not the case for 2003 and 2004 models).
In my opinion, it is completely worth it to re-wire the lights if you have any intention of selling the car in the future, or are extremely picky about your car. Personally, I like the fact that my lights have the exact same functionality of an '06 Canadian coupe and I would have no problem selling my car in Canada (most knowledgable buyers would notice the fact that there was no DRL, or would be reluctant to buy a car where a fuse had to be pulled in order for the turn signals to function properly).
Just my 0.02!
Totally worth the cost of labour considering the fact that Canadian Spec projectors cost an arm and a leg:
Canadian '06 projectors - includes bulbs, ballasts = $ 2565 + tax = $2872 (was told they were not able to order the assemblies without ballasts)
Here is the link to the DIY: https://g35driver.com/forums/canada/...-vehicles.html

I know about problem with power seats, that's why this won't do for me.
I'm living in Russia and we don't need DRL.
What about disconnecting Daytime Light Control Unit or cutting a wire from Parking Brake Switch? Anyone tried it?

Sorry for my compressed style of answers. My English is terrible

Not sure about either of those two options...try sending a PM to zx10r_646 - he may know!
Edit: I think that if you cut a wire from the parking brake switch you might notice that the "brake" warning light (which normally goes away when you disengage the parking brake) will remain on at all times - will make it impossible to tell if you actually have a brake problem.
I'd definitely look into the cost of having someone else re-wire your lights - cutting brake wires seems to risky to me!

I would not recommend disconnecting and removing the DRL control module without some rewiring (between the input and outputs of the DRL control module). You will loose your high beams and I believe your turn signals and fog light will not work properly.
The wiring to modify the 06 projectors is not difficult for anyone familiar with -re-wiring/installing a relay for automotive applications. Try taking it to a car audio/video installation shop...if you are uncomfortable making the mods yourself.
