hey as i've posted before, i installed my AEM cai system pretty recently. the deep growl is great ( which is most noticeable at around 4000-5000 rpm).

however, after installing my friend's cai on his CL type-s, i noticed a significant difference. with the G, there is deffinitely a deeper growl and more aggressive sound, imo. BUT on the CL, when you stand outside of the car (or sit inside w/ windows rolled down) you can hear a distinct loud hissing sound from the intake sucking in the air.

so my question is:
should the intake for the G have that sound too/ if there is no sound, is it due to poor or improper installation?

it might be the type of filter? i dont kno.

 

my ztube gets that growl sound and my popcharger makes a whisling sound between 2.5-3.5 k when accelerating. when my engine is NOT under load (revving in neutral) i dont get the growl but still get the whistle/hiss

i know exactly what your talking about rekeem. My brother has a CAI on his CL-S and it makes a hissing sound at idle. The intake for our cars doesnt make it. It just makes that annoying squeak/whistling sound when we press on the throttle. But anyway, its normal for the G to be like that. Maybe it has to do with the intake manifold.

 

I also get that hissing/whistling sound from my intake. I have the jwt popcharger with the z tube.
