I think it really depends on the teenager.....and, if he/she can afford the car payments.
Just give a teenager a G?? Not really in favor of this.
My kids make their own car payments. We help them out when they need it.
Also, we match what they save for a down payment.
I change the oil in all of their cars...BUT, they will be learning how to do this very shortly. sorry, off topic.
I'm not a 'hater' of kids that are given cars. Some kids will take very good care of them. I just think if somebody has to invest in their car, they will take better care of it. just my .02

I think letting any teenager drive a nice car with a lot of power is a risky proposition given that they're highly likely to get in an accident or two at some point. I'd rather give a new driver a less powerful, older car that you care less about and let him or her learn on that first. If a teen goes through a performance driving school like Skip Barber that's one thing, but most never do that.

There's nothing wrong with it unless the teenager isn't "deserving". It really boils down to if the kid is responsible enough not to go out drinking and racing around. If he/she takes care of it well, as if they had bought it (which doesn't happen often). Just depends on the type of kid in the end.
