03 vs 04... is there a big difference in "issues resolved"

I am looking at a couple G's.. same mileage around 50k miles...

is there many more issues on an 03 vs an 04?

I know tire feathering perhaps was 1, as well as possible clutch issues (they are BOTH 6MTs)..

Should I shy away from 03s and only focus on 04s? I just dunno if they were all fixed in 04, or should I not even bother because both are the same.

03-04 identical. 05 new interior trim 06-07 exterior changes + many new features.

as long as the car is driven properly and taken care of, all Gs are the same. Some people say the new REVUPS cause oil consumption, the 05s have bad transmissions (i dunno where they get this info), 03s are bad cuz they are the first model, 04 is good cuz its the next year (even though infiniti didn't make ANY changes)...

The window motor/bose headunit problem is on a few...

brembo brakes.... on m6 models...

and if you find an 04 for the same mileage as an 03, i would go with the 04

Bought my 04 with 44K miles on it last summer.
No problems (knock knock). Tires are wearing fine.
Bought it cause I like the seats better in the 04 than in the 05 or 06 or 07.
Was ready to wait on a good, used G37 when I found out my butt loved the 04 seats!!!!
The dealership had just put on new Nissan pads. CRAPPY! I just replaced those dusty/squealing POS pads with Akebono ceramics (pro-act) and the squealing stopped as well as the dust storm.
Mine has the 05 AT shifter as opposed to the 03 AT shifter. Sometime in the 04's they changed from the button on the side to the button in front.

Good luck!!!

04's seem to be a bit higher on the reliability ratings - a later model run is always a bit better if you can get it. Also, all 04's are pre-wired for satellite radio while not all 03's are, if you care.

Thanks for the input so far .. I use to have an 04 350z enthusiast 6mt

I remember reading then or hearing that the 04s were "fixed". Nissan fixed the tire feathering issue on the 03s in 04.. and also the clutch was revised in 04..

That's why I was asking the question.

I really LOVE XM radio.. so I am bummed the 03 isn't prewired for it..
according to g35parts vin info and my 03 vin im looking at is older then those, and the current owner said it doesn't anyway =\

http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/pro...roducts_id=285

But if it's not pre-wired according to g35 parts, its $57 more... I dunno how hard it is to install or if I can buy the parts cheaper on ebay.

Does anyone have the model numbers for the xm stuff that came on 04+ ?

Some 03's have satellite though, you just need to check.

check for the button near the FM/AM, CD buttons. If you see a "SAT" button, then its prewired

Wow, I didn't know that...

How can you tell if it's prewired? I assume if you press the switch, it should go to the Sat mode (but nothing will play w/o a subscription).

I have an 03. Only a few problems, rear axle clicking and power door locks acting up.

the factory unit sucks anyways.. and the 03-04 center console looks like ****... everytime i look at my center console, i feel a big urge to tear everything apart and change it around to something else...

my 03 is full of problems.. everyday someone is starring at it no matter where i drive.... hmmmm dunno when that will get fixed.
