I'm new to this forum. I just bought a G35 coupe today. I see some of you saying you have a 2004.5. Is there any difference between a 2004 vs. 2004.5? If so, what are the differences? Thanks

 

4.5 is a ULEV2.

That reminds me..I guess I should change my signiture to indicate that I have a 2004.5 Differences? I dont know. They are newer that the 2004...

I believe the Vin # starts with 8000 the 04 I have starts with # 3000
Also, if you have an 04.5, you should have the newer style shift **** on the AT's

I think he means the VIN starts with xxxxxxxxxxx800000 or higher, right? Mine was bought in January 2004 has VIN ...805xxx and I'm told that I'm the 5000 (plus a little) ULEV2 car in the US. Hope that helps.

Open up your dashboard and get to your ECU. If the lable has two letters on it, you have a 2003-2004, as it is ULEV1. If your ecu has either a Letter and a number or two numbers, it's a 2004.5 and ULEV2. Shitty part is, TS cannot reprogram ULEV2 yet.
