ALUMINUM PEDALS???
ALUMINUM PEDALS???
I recently got the factory aluminum pedals from everything G35.
Did anyone else get these also?
I'm having a real hard time with installing the accelerator pedal. Just rip off the clip in the back?
Don't wanna mess anything up.
Any suggestions for the adhesive will be great too.
Really appreciate it guys, freakin love this forum.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS???
I'm not sure which kit you have, the manual or automatic, but I have the manual and I did not need adhesive to put on any of the pedals.
I removed the stock pedals, which was done the opposite way the aluminum pedals are applied, and then applied the aluminum pedals. The gas pedal uses a piece of plastic and is clipped onto the gas rod.

I have the manual too.
I've installed the Dead pedal and replaced the Accelerator pedal too.
I just got the clutch and the brake pedal to go.
They just come off? And the Aluminum ones just go right on?
Is your brake pedal the same size as stock? The brake pedal they gave me is the size of the AT brake pedal.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS???
Clutch and brake pop off, and the aluminum pop on. However I suggest letting them either bake in the sun, or warm them in boiling water.
They can be a bitch to put on cold. Use of a small flathead screwdriver helped me put them on, took about 15 mins for the entire set.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS???
I just put mine on this weekend. It really wasn't that bad. Here are my tips:
1) Accelerator pedal: you only need to pop the clip off on the left side (when looking at front of pedal) It is a single piece clip that is attached to the rest of the pedal. Just get a screw driver under the left side and pop it off with a little bit of force. From there put the bushing in the new pedal, insert onto the rod and flip it up to installed position. I slid my clip down from the top rather than trying to pop in on from side to side and it was VERY easy this way. I found too much play though once I put the clip on (the pedal would rock back and forth) so I cut probably 12 pieces of small electrical tape and stuck them together to create a <1/8" rubber piece. I stuck this on the pedal (flipped down again) and flipped the pedal up and inserted the clip. It took a few tries to find the right thickness with my tape but I just kept adding layers until it was nice and firm and didn't rock anymore.
2) Brake/Clutch: I did a combination of tips. Take a new pedal and put it in a sandwich bag (hey, I was using what I had). Heat up some water in the microwave and then drop the bag in the water for a minute or two. I used the bag to not get the pedal wet. Then I took some WD40 and sprayed some on the inside of the pedal (not too much but enough to decrease friction when sliding it around. Then I put the wider end on first (top) and using my pocket knife's flat blade I worked my way around the sides then bottom. This is a little hard to describe but I would put the small blade over the pedal frame and get it under the rubber, then lever the blade toward the frame which lifts the rubber onto the pedal frame surface...I found this worked well and quickly. It really wasn't that bad and my 2nd one only took a minute to get on.
Adhesive isn't necessary for the MT kit. The rubber holds on the pedals once you pull the rubber over the back side of the pedal frame. The only exception being my patented electrical tape method to tighten up the fit on the accellerator pedal.
Also, I found some decent instructions at Grubbs.com. Look under parts, then G35, Interior and look for the pedal pics and you will see a link to a guys site that has some decent pics of what to do.
Misc. Tip: Pull the dead pedal off first to give you a little more elbow room. I also pulled the fuse panel off. Put the dead pedal on last after all the other pedals are installed....its a piece of cake comparatively.
Good luck.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS???
I would like to get the aluminum pedals but I have a concern about them in the winter. Will they be slippert with ice and snow build up?
Sorry if I have changed the subject of this thread but it is somewhat realated. Thanks

Take a look at this (has pics);

You should be able to slide the clip for the gas pedal on. Try sliding it on before you try it on your gas pedal rod.

Re: ALUMINUM PEDALS???
Sounds like you got the wrong set...for the AT.
Brake and clutch pedal are identical on 6MT.
I set them out in 90 degree sun for approx 30 min..and was able to slip them right on once they softened up.
