Weird Problem

Ive noticed this 3 times in the past week. When coming or going onto an on/off ramp, when I am steering to the right, my left front wheel seems to brake hard for a second, activates the slip and then everything is normal. Last week I had new compression rods installed, brake pads and rotors, and an alignment. This has started after these maintenances were completed. Anyone ever heard or have this happen to them?

Thanks.

Haven't heard of that one before but with what is happening I would definitely take it back to whoever did the work and make them check it out. Sounds like it could be kind of dangerous if your brakes aren't working correctly.

Something similar happened to me a while back... I'm not sure what it was, but it only seemed to happen once or twice taking some off ramps. Good luck in finding out what the deal is.

Its only happen to me once so far comming off an off ramp going to the right as well. I figured since I had my VDC on that the car was trying to compensate for maybe my rear sliping or breaking traction. Thats the only time it happened so I left it at that. Let us know if find anything different.

In my original post I meant to also say I would turn off VDC around the specific turn sometimes, seemed to be fine when it's off.

Our VDC can be somewhat sensitive and erratic. I'm sure that if every G35 owner out there tried pushing their cars harder into curves on ramps, a number of them would be seeing the VDC kicking in. Any new change to the tires or possibly the suspension(in this case) can trigger a VDC reaction. Unfortunately, it's the price of todays technology and it can be a pain. With regards to turning the VDC off by turnng off the switch, the VDC is not totally deactivated. Many owners have observed that it can still kick in.

if they changed your brakes then i would guess its that.it could be many things but think they put too much grease in the slide pins.you should know your car and after installing new parts it should drive better not worse.

hmmm ... after putting your G on the hoist, could it be that the shocks went back and when your doing a tight right on a ramp, one of the wheels are sleeping thus activating the VDC?

just a thought... i would bring it back to the place or put it up on a hoist to see if anything is wrong...

from my experience, when i put my TL on a hoist after lowering it, it started to make noises , then when i lifted it up on the hoist again, the shocks became normal again. i dunno what this is called (there is a name for it)... just wondering maybe this has something to do with your car slipping...

OR one of the sensors that measure the wheel spin could b misreading something..

I had this happen to me once, but it was because I got new tires. I got the front pair first and the "slip" would always come on when maneuvering aggressively. As soon as I got the matching rear tires, I stopped having the problem.

I realize this thread is really old, but did you ever figure out what caused this problem? It happened to me 3 times the other day. I just had new rear tires installed and added a bit of air to the front tires to bring them back up to spec. It only ever happens when i'm turning right and 2 of the times 3 it happened, i was on an on-ramp.
