Unless it's a V6, not sure why you're laughing...

A late model GT will run 13.8-13.9's all day, and new Cobra's run mid 12's out of the box.

 

obviously he was talking about the V6... cmon man .. he said "REG MUSTANG"

 

Man, I have dusted so many mustangs its disgusting. V6 or V8 dont matter. Mabye the three drivers I raced sucked or something cause the V8 should have put up better competition. And if that guy screws up a shift then hes done for. Just make sure you dont let in until he puts money on it. Then take him.

No just that guy is to over confident about his car. He wants to race me with his Reg Mustang he just changed his ratios on his gears. Im not like a big racer or anything havnt raced anyone every since i got my car which was 2 months ago

3. You have an AT and he has a stick
4. I assume you probably don't know how to launch in the car properly

Naw i know everything about launching i havnt MESSED with MY G. I messed with my 03 Accord V6 which i had before i traded it for the G. Not trying to be a show off or smart talk anyone. just a post for anyone who has any ideas if they raced GT or Reg mustangs

 

New GTs are reasonably fast. They produce a lot of torque so you can't take them lightly. I've never seen anyone run a 13.8 stock though.

i think his is a 2004 mustang GT. I heard from other people that they have raced GT's and have beat them. Just want to get some kind of idea what i might be going against

 

So he's got a new car with more horespower, more torque, and a manual transmission. Do you need to ask?

I'm sure he's on a mustang forum talking about some cocky guy at work with a luxury sport car thinking he'll toast him with his auto-magic.

 

Well I have beat a few and lost to a few. If they get a good launch they will almost definitely pull away from you off of the line but once you get your RPMs up you should be able to reel him back in. It really depends on what speed you are racing to. If you are only going up to about 60-70 mph on the street I'd say it's a toss up. On the freeway you'd probably have the advantage.

New Mustang GTs only make 260 hp I think, but they do have like 302 ft/lbs of torque.
