Purchasing an 04

Hey guys. I've been a lurker here for a while. Pretty much since the G ever came out! I've had an Evo for a while now, but I'm tired of the Mitsu service. I took my car to the dealer... when I got home I found PARTS from my car in the trunk because they couldn't figure out where they went!!! WTF? Anyways. So, I'm selling my Evo.

I have a couple of questions about the G:

1) Snow... How does the car go in the snow? I've had a lot of snow experience and know how to drive in the snow well. Would I be fine with chains? Without?

2) Window tinting: I am going to get a Ivory Pearl with Graphite interior and think tinted windows would look really pimp on that color combo. How do you tint the windows on the G when the G has the feature that the window slightly rolls down and up whenever you open or close the door? I was under the impression that you are supposed to keep your windows closed for 3 days after tinting... that feature makes this impossible.

3) How is Infiniti service? I understand there were bugs with the car when it came out. How does the dealer respond to helping you fix these issues?

4) Who is it that I am supposed to PM about joining the DC area G club?

Thanks for your time!

I cant stand the EVO

You CANNOT drive this car without snow tires. The stock michelin pilots are summer tires and are DANGEROUS in even a dusting of snow. Most of us that need them have gotten the Blizzak LM22's

2) Window tinting: I am going to get a Ivory Pearl with Graphite interior and think tinted windows would look really pimp on that color combo. Tinitng is no problem. make sure to go to a good tint shop

It always depends on the individual dealer. I have always gotten the red carpet treatment including loaner cars when needed. I have had no problems with my 2004 coupe

4) Who is it that I am supposed to PM about joining the DC area G club?

Thanks for your time!

Thanks for all of the replies!
One new question: How long will the Pilot Sports last? (how many miles are they supposed to last?)

I placed a deposit on what I wanted... now they are going to find it because they didn't have one in stock. I placed a deposit on a Ivory Pearl coupe with black leather, 6 MT, Nav, V92 Aero package, Premium package... and I think that's it. I didn't want satellite radio or body side moulding.

I can't wait for it to come in!!!

Crazy, but...

They won't be able to get a 2004 that is EXACTLY what I want. I won't sacrifice anything, either... so it looks like I will be waiting for the 05's at the least. Ug... pretty disappointing.

Re: Purchasing an 04

1.) The Pilot Sports are useless (dangerous) in the snow, so if you get a 6mt or 5at with the 18" wheel package, you're going to need snow tires in the winter. I have the 17" wheels with the Goodyear Eagles, and they do fine in DC area snow.

2.) Don't know.

3.) Passport Infiniti has an excellent service department. So far, they've been very responsive to my needs. From what I've heard from other owners, stay away from Rosenthal's service department. And from personal experience, I can tell you to stay away from their sales department, too. They jerked me around for weeks before I had the sense to go to Passport.

4.) Startertan is the man you want to talk to about the Capital G's on this website, or you can check out learn2turn on FA.
