What is necessary to swap out the old style '04 AT coupe shift **** w/side button with the new one with the button in front. I bought the new shift **** but it is not a direct replacement. It seems that the plastic on the shift column is too wide to fit into the shift **** assembly. Am I missing other parts? Any info would be appreciated.

I think there is a retro fit kit needed to put the new style **** on the early 04 and 03 models.....I think they sell it a www.perfnissan.com I think this is the page
just click on the G35 section and then on the interior parts section. the last item on the page........it shows a kit for retro fitting the 350z **** for the G35's. it also shows the adapter kit for early 04 models for about $13 and change....

My coupe is an '04. I got it in Oct '03 and it has the AT shift **** with the shift button on the side.
