LOL, Yah I know exactly what you mean.
Last week I had to go to a Dr appointment. I parked in an open area, where there were a least 6 spaces in all directions.
When I came out an hour later, there was still lots of empty spaces but my G was surrounded.

i honestly think people do this on purpose.. i consider myself a veteran in defensive parking but no matter wha i do, i always come back finding somone parking next to me or some kind of ding on my car..

 

People do this on purpose many times... the nicer the car the more prone it is for jealous people to try to intentionally do harm. I know mistakes happen, but some of these things are on purpose .

I've had dingers galore and people park next to me even if I'm a 1/2 mile away (don't mind if it's another G or other nice car -- prob have the SAME idea). Not just my previous post in the Eye Candy section about building construction people dragging wires ACROSS my car and scraping it all up, I've had a shopping cart (buggy here in GA ^__^) flung at my car by some kid who almost had me running after him if I wasn't afraid of him as a possible gang member. I also get people doing crazy things on the road like running red lights on me and then giving me the finger because I almost hit them... wait, that's just normal morons and probably NOT just my car :-).

I vote for the ding-my-door, you get SHOCKED solution, but that still seems to be illegal :-). I feel your pain...

Always park next to an island or on the end spot. If you're on an end spot get your tires on the line and for an island get as close to the curb as possible. Walking an extra 60 seconds is way better than having to fix a ding or worse a bad scratch caused by a car door.

I've had my G for over a year with 16k miles on it and the only ding I've gotten was from my wife in my garage.

2 words. Park Smart.

Four traffic cones, one in each corner when you park. Stringing bright yellow tape between the cones marked, "Biological Hazard - Quarantined Area" is optional, but effective.

 

i have 2 dings and 1 hit and run on my car which is about 9 months old with around 10k miles.. all the dings and hits are from parking in small parking lots which i have no control over...
