Got my G!

Hello all! Well I have been lusting for a G35 for the past year or so and I finally was able to get one. I traveled about 250 miles each way to pick up the car, but I think the price was worth it. Its an 05 6mt, all options but nav with about 42k miles. The previous owner did some modding- Stillen CAI, Z tube, Crawford plenum, high flow cats, UR underdrive pulleys, ACT clutch and flywheel, and 350z springs. Its a big step up from my previous vehicle, a 2000 Corolla. So heres a few pics (You can see my old Toyota in the background of the first one.)

Oh yeah, I have a few questions too. When I turn on the A/C, it blows a funky smell for a few seconds and then its fine. What can I do to get rid of the bad smell? Also, I'm not sure about this, but I don't think the previous owner ever got the car tuned. With those mods, is a tune a good idea? The exhaust smells like the car is running a bit rich. Finally, the doors seem to lock automatically when I'm driving and they don't unlock when I stop the car and turn it off. Is there a way to make them unlock when I'm ready to get out of the car without me having to push the unlock button? Thanks!

The rich running smell is most likely your high flow cats I was in the same situation but with a mustang gt when i went from stock to high flow cats

The ac smell is common..its condensation build up just turn the heat on before u get out of your car for a couple minutes...check your in-cabin filter behind the glovebox..

Hey.. nice car!

That's a SERIOUS mountain-step up from that old crappy Corolla.

It looks like it has some minor damage to the front passengers side of the bumper and chin spoiler... or is that just some tar or a photo abnormality?

Congrats man.. Feels good to work hard and be able to get what you want huh? This was my dream car too and I got mine a couple years ago.. Started modding mine in Feb..

First mod recommendation.. Get in contact w/ Tony@Riverside and get you some 06 projectors.. Great lights and best prices.. I think the smell might be the incabin filter as was previously stated.. Don't know of a way to make the door automatically unlock.. Oh. Also, Paint that grill black and leave the emblem chrome.. You'll LOVE IT..

Very nice ride once again mayne.. You gonna leave Skyline on the back or finish the debadge? Me personally, I love the Mt Fuji emblem on the rear and nothing else.. Check out my albums and progression thread in my sig... Good luck w/ the ride man.. and congrats once again..

Spacer and clear corners are a must, and cheap too. Congrats on being able to step up to a driver's car. Now, wax that puppy and take more pics.

It is damage. The previous owner had a bra on it which rubbed the paint right off I guess. And the bottom of the lip is scraped up too from hitting a curb or something. I will get that stuff fixed soon.

Yeah, it feels great to have this car. I would like to go with the projectors but I just don't think its in my budget right now. Maybe in a month or two when I can save up some cash. I plan on getting rid of the Skyline GT350 badges and getting Mt. Fuji and G35 badges put back on. The Skyline stuff is not for me. No offense to anyone who has it.
