MACHINE CAR WASH?....

Re: MACHINE CAR WASH?....
I posted a note about this about a year ago, with pics. After going thru a touchless carwash, 2 of my rims were completely damaged. (I have the 18"). Those rails that "guide" your car thru the wash will destroy your rims.
I lot of people are saying "unless you're lazy...". Well, here in Chicago, it's below 35 degrees oh at least 4 months out of the year (if not more). So we don't have the luxury of washing our cars in our driveway.
I have resorted to, in the winter time, sponge bathing my car in my unheated garage in full winter gear (hat, gloves, thick jacket). I have to use hot water or else the water freezes before I can dry it. So trust me, if I could find a car wash without those stupid rails, I would use it.

Hogwash I've washed my car outside on the driveway at 2am before when it was 18 degrees outside, using a bucket of hot soapy water. And I have a sloped driveway, so I kept having to hose down the driveway to melt the ice, so I didn't crack my head open. Also had to hose the car down pretty often, so I didn't get ice forming on the car.... Yeah, I'm probably crazy, but my car was dirty
I only washed the car so late in the cold, because I had friends coming over the next morning (At least I didn't use the leafblower at this time of night)
