Re: 04 G35 6MT purchases in SoCal
I literally picked my G35C 6MT last night a half hour before closing at the Costa Mesa Infiniti dealership. After having called around a good bit, the lowest I was ever quoted was 750 off of sticker and in general was greeted with sticker prices. Several offered sticker on the car itself but would be willing to wiggle some on the options I was interested in (aero kit, clear bra, nav).
In the end, I picked Costa Mesa despite paying sticker due to a combination of availability of the car I wanted in the proper color and their professionalism in the process from begining to end. I'd approached several other dealers close to me (CM Infiniti is an hour's drive for me) but their sales guys all felt rather sleazy.
So if yo ucan get 1000, I'd consider yourself lucky or just simply a better negotiator than I. $1200-1600 would be insanity in my opinion unless we're talking a car that's sat on the lot for some time, likely a less popular color.

I bought my DG/G '04 6MT 2 months ago at Santa Monica for $1100 off sticker - $1200-$1600 is pushing it for a 6MT - they are just in high demand and less stocked than the automatics. You'd be hard pressed to push it for any more than $1000 off MSRP unless you are getting more options than that. Glendale was gonna throw in a NAVI for free on a Brilliant Silver 6MT ($35,550) but I wasn't ready to buy that day unfortunately. I think that kind of offer is exceptional though. Shaq from Cerritos would not budge off sticker, nor would South Coast. Since 2005's are coming out (although the 6MT doesn't come out until November), I think $1200 off MSRP in Los Angeles is a great deal.

Yeah, that is what I had thought. $1000 off sticker is not bad and I may just have to take it. I was considering other cars where I could get about $2000 below invoice (Benz) so paying only $1000 below sticker kinda hurts. But, I have driven both cars and by far, the G is worth the extra money. Wish me luck. Thanks again.
