Auto Trans unknown problem

I dun know if the transmission is dead ... so anxious
When my leg press oil, the rpm goes up and i heard the engine sound, but the car did not go for about half second, and the shake a little bit and become normal... this problem comes more freqently this few days...

I am looking for used trans from ebay, it costs about 500-800 bucks, do you guys know how much the machanic shop charge me for labor if i bought a used trans aftermarket?

Dude, rewrite your question only after you reread this one because from what i can get it sounds like the infamous 'auto lag' which is quite common, but the leg press oil thing got me torn!!!

thanks for the replies, When i start the engine, from P to D, that's fine, what i heard something strange from the front of my car, it's like, zi... zi... for less then half second. Everytime when my car start to move from constant, like from 0- 10mph, the car would produced the same, strange sound from the front. Okay, start from this few days, when i am driving my car, when i stopped in the stop sign and started to run again, the rpm goes up, the engine sound is normal, but the car does not have motive power for slightly less than half second, then it would move studdenly and become normal when the transmission kick down to any gear.

when you write your question you have to make explain yourself clearly. I can barely understand what you are trying to say, about the stop sign and motive power?

how old is your car? why don't you go the dealer and have them look at it. you have 6yrs or 70k miles for powertrain (trasnmission).

LOL! OK, translation... The best that I can understand anyway.

What I can gather is this...
When the guy starts his G and puts it into DRIVE the gears are not engaging completely/ properly. It stutters like an MT w/ the clutch out too far. As far as the "when my leg press the oil" I think he means gas. I'm Korean and I hear this a lot from my fellow country men. They use the word "oil" for any slippery liquid. i.e. motor oil, petrol etc. As far as the stop sign... I don't think that it's really important... The main thing is that his trany is acting up and not engaging right.

I had a similar problem. When I went into drive from park the shift would be very hard and the "check AT" light came on. I i give a little gas and there's no power to the wheels so I give a little more and the engine revs really high but I'm moving slower that my grandma on her walker... I switch to the manual tiptronic and all is good, the light goes off and the cars shifts normally in manual. So, I switch to Auto and the light stays off and I drive home. Couple of weeks later, the same thing happens and this time the light does not go off in the manual mode. I turn off the ignition and restart. The light goes off and I drive home and call the dealership. They tell me to bring it in and that's where it's at now. I'm thinking that it might just be a ATF thing but I need to hear from them to know for sure. I'll keep you posted on waht happens w/ my G since it seems like a similar problem.

Yes yes, exactly what you are describe, it's like MT, when i press the clutch accidentally.. the timing of the connection between the wheels and the engine is wrong. So i suspect it's related to the trans ... thanks sooooooooooooooo much

riflydon,
sorry but I don't have any solutions for you. The dealership just called and they said that they couldn't find anything wrong. The ECU doesn't have any error codes stored. I think that considering your milage, you might want to look into a tranny fluid change before going for a new tranny. I think Infiniti recommends a fluid change at 60k. I think that I'll do that as well seeing as I'm just about at 60k. I've read somewhere in the forums that break down in fluid viscosity can cause some gear slippage and engagement problems. My G has an extended warranty so I think I can wait it out a bit. Sorry I couldn't help more. Perhaps one of the Pros on the forum can chime in...

you can get it at the dealership. I don't know how much it is though... You might try to look around on line as well. BE CAREFUL!! Don't get anything cheap! You may end up doing more harm than good. I don't know exactly what ATF would work best but I'm sure if you do a search you can find it. Good Luck.
