Go to Nissan for checkups?

I have read all over this forum that it is cheaper to take your G35 (2007) to a Nissan dealership for it's 30k. Just want to make sure this is still true.

My Infiniti dealer and I had a falling out, thus I refuse to give them anymore of my money. Another local dealer quoted $550 for 30k.

Should I take my car to Nissan?

Bill

yes you will save money going to Nissan. You dont get 6 blends of coffee or leather couches in the waiting room at Nissan though.

my nissan dealer will not sell me any parts because i drive an infiniti and not a nissan... they r 100% stupid and lose alot of money of me from my g and 240.... had to have them change my camshaft sensors and after getting it back i have 2 new ecu codes...

they somehow unplug my evap solenoid and somehow cut my lower knock sensor in half....

just fixed it now.. guess to have things done right, then just DO IT URSELF.. even if u have no clue.. can only learn from tryin and google is great

I havent had any problems going to Nissan, in fact they love seeing an Infiniti roll in. And they should be able to convert Infiniti part numbers to Nissan without a problem. The only problem I can see is Nissan doesnt normally work on our specific cars. But since we share the same chassis and powertrain as the 350Z it shouldnt be too hard.

Nissan can do everything except new car warranty.

I actually purchsed my extended warranty for my 04 Coupe last summer at my NISSAN dealer. They recently replaced my AC compressor and driver's seat motor under that same extended warranty.

When our 05 is close to running out of the bumper to bumper, I will be going to Nissan for an extended warranty on it.

I also get discounted parts prices at Nissan for my Infiniti - mainly filters.

Highly recommend Modern Nissan of Lake Norman for folks in the area!!

I took mine to a nissan dealer and they said they weren't allowed to do anything because of an agreement between them and infiniti...

My local Infiniti dealer recently went under (sales and service dept's both closed). I got mailings from the local nissan dealers soliciting my business as well as letters from my next nearest (if you can call it near) Infiniti dealers telling me Nissan couldnt do warranty work.

I called Infiniti Customer Service to check on all that.

-Only Infiniti can do warranty work. That I could have guessed.
-Any work you do at Nissan dealer is treated as any outside service, same as if Joe Shmoe repairs or services your car or if you do your own work...in other words you need to keep all paperwork records to prove (if you ever need to prove) the service was done on the car. This would only come into play if you have a warranty item where the dealer can claim work done by others caused the problem (and you know they will say that) or in my case I have to keep records of maintenance for the lease.
-All Infiniti dealers have access to any service done by any Infiniti dealer.

so, since I lease my car through my business I will continue to have my car serviced at Infiniti so I don't ever have to maintain service records and don't ever have an issue where Infiniti can say, "that inferior service center did this shoddy work".

YMMV.

Nissan vs Infiniti....?

The only reason to visit your Infiniti stealership is warranty work, Nissan uses the same products cause they service the Z and GT-R. I found their service to my 50% less and their GT-R mechanic is the only one that touches my car. I had Nissan drain/replace all my fluids and it cost me less than $200, Infiniti wanted $300 just to service my trans. When I asked the service manager why the cost difference he said, "we use better products than Nissan!" What a joke....

Nissan FTW. Just out of warranty now and Inifiniti won't even budge helping me out with anything. I've owned 3 Infiniti's now and they don't care. Very smart move on Infiniti's part to deny me even small labor like rear axle lubrication.... Great way to keep past customers happy. As far as I'm concerned... F*ck Infiniti.

Infiniti wanted to charge me $300 to fix the rear axle click that will probably just come back in 5k miles. Took the car to Nissan and they know all about the issue. They had my car done in under 45 minutes and it only cost me $120.

The nearest Infiniti Dealer is about 100 miles from me so I've never taken it there. I have always taken it to the local Nissan dealer and they have been wonderful. I just hit 30k and need to schedule my service soon. I asked last time I was there if I could have it done with them and they said of course. He even said since I've done the filters and such myself I could pick and choose the service I did need. Prices have always been good there too.

The service guys love my car, it's funny to see them walk around it as if they've never seen one.

Well, one thing to consider is that Nissan doesn't give out loaner cars, but yes, the work is done cheaper.
