Seat belt button broke off

My passenger side seat belt button broke off and I seem to have lost it. (Basically the button is just a black circle that clips onto the midpoint of the belt in order to keep the metal clip from falling to the ground)

Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Is there something that i can just substitute in place of it?

Wow, sound like my car. Ironic that you have it in the same color and trim too.

Same thing happen to my car. I haven't bother with it as of yet, but let me know how it goes.

Thanks derek.

Do you think if I go to the dealer, they will find the part very quickly and replace it in an instant and I will be on my way? Or will they make me wait, etc. I'm not sure if one small insignificant part is worth driving to the dealer and back for 40 min.

This was big help to know having a 10-year unlimited mileage warranty on G35 seat belts.

I am an owner of a 2003 G35 coupe and have been living without a button on the passenger seat belt for a couple years. It fell out and gone. Funny, 90% of the car's mileage has been driver-only.

I will visit the dealer and take care of it.

Those seat belt strap buttons are basically the same in any kind of car.

Just take one from an old clunker or visit the junk yard. Plenty around.

After calling in for a missing button, I ended having both front seat belts replaced. They never did retract correctly soon after I bought the car new. The original dealer wouldn't touch it. I noticed the new belts are redesigned using a sturdy plastic clip to keep the metal buckle from falling to the floor.
