Just read the R&T article about the Nismo S-Tune Fairlady GT, which is a hopped up version of the Z selling for $60k in Japan. Now the ineteresting part is the S1 engine. A VQ35DE with new cam, ECU, raised redline (7200rpm), new clutch, flywheel and various other parts that drives up the power to 300hp. That led me to think........ is it possible the 2005 G35C comes standard with a Nismo S1 spec engine? Z's get 300hp from that engine so it is entirely reasonable to assume it can make around 295hp with the stock intake differences.
If that is the case.... then I have to consider about moving up. The S1 engine's strength is in response, sounds and other stuff that doesn't show up on paper. It would make more sense to trade up and lose some money rather than spending $5000 and void warranty to have a Nissan dealership install the S1 kit on my car.
Now if they can just make Caribbean Blue coupes again..... just one?
