Re: light bulbs
I just got the PIAA extreme hyper white wedge bulbs. It looks nice, but doesn't match our HID's. They are bluish the HID's are straight white. I think the only thing that'll match the HID bulbs are some hyper white LED lights.
By the way, you don't need to take the wheel well out to put in the bulb for the strip in the housing. I punched the wheel well down from inside the engine bay. this gave me more room to reach in and just switch the bulb out. The only thing is that front piece that says "fiber composit". It's friggen itchy, I ended up with a bunch of microscopic splinters, little red bumps and a rash all over my arm. Later the rash went away but the skin is very sensative and has these scratch scabs all over. I guess "fiber composit" is another way of saying "fiber glass"?

Re: light bulbs
It's actually glass-filled nylon. It is a common material when you need high strength and low cost.
Back to the light....you can do from underneath too (pain in the *** to do). Also to note....on the bulb holder there's a o-ring. When reinstalling, push in hard then turn to lock.
