Good Estimate??
Hey guys today i was quoted $2,800 from a local shop for my brakes, tires, and belts and of course installation ..Do you think this is a fair price??
I am getting all four BREMBO rotors, all new pads, 4 Bridgestone Potenza tires with mounting and balancing and there replacing the ac belt and engine belt..
Please let me know this is pretty expensive

You could get it done cheaper. Changeing the rotors takes only 20 min per rotor very simple. Pads are even easier you do not even have to take the calipers of the rotor if you have the brembo calipers already. Not sure on the belts how much they charging per tire????

I had literally no experience with brakes and did my own brembos in two hours.
Start doing things yourself and spend that money on upgraded parts.
For example, you can get the StopTech Aero Rotors for $584.00 front and $736.00 rear. These rotors are lighter and improve braking. Get upgraded pads, SS brake lines, MOTUL Fluid and STILL come out way under what they quoted.
Spend $30 on tools, use OEM jack, do it in a parking lot if you have to.

break down mechanic prices
belts 100 with belts
brakes (4) 150-250
tires 500-800 depending on size and brand
brembo rotors - dont remember the price
I suggest go buy all these parts yourself then come back and have them just charge you labor.
to save on that price I would suggest another brand name of tires. Poetenzas cost much more than an other set of tires that perform the same way

Well I don't really expect him to get a better deal on tires than getting them from tirerack. Can't save much there.
Belts are easy but people are scared of them for some reason. So he would probably still pay for those.
I was just saying, for the amount you would pay for labor on brakes you could do it yourself and end up with a better setup.

No no i agree! I was just making sure that the tires were accounted for!
Brembos are so easy to do, and if you order the right set, doesnt cost much at all!

yeah i was thinking of doing it myself but id rather have a professional do it rather than me and 18 yr old that has no experience with brakes..which tires do you guys recommend??
If you are the least bit mechanically inclined brakes and belts are simple.
DIY'ing it will save some serious $$$.
What is the reason for replacing the rotors? Are they damaged or undersized?
If they are still good either have them turned or just reuse them...I recommend at least have them turned, it's about $12 a rotor around here.
Kuhmo tires from tirerack...shipped probably around $800 for all 4.
mount and balance from some tire shop...?
brake pads- guessing around $100-150
belts- probably $100 or less
total, way less than half of your quote

I didn't have anyone to help me, just a DIY. But necessity is the mother of invention.
The only things I'd done before it was my PopCharger install which a monkey could do.
Do it yourself once and you'll save yourself thousands.
I once had the dealership hand my car off to a coop student because i was 21... Im sure you can do a better job than a student lol. I know I can!
