Re: 3M clear shield opinion!!!
do the WHOLE hood, and not just the 1/3. it looks a little funny to me when I look at my hood. but I guess it's like a tattoo, I'll get used to it. I'm just more relieved on the highway, not having to worry about rocks and chips.

not only the full bumper and front fender, but side mirrors and headlights. they use 3m vinly for the headlights...it's a little thicker. just do it. no regrets.

In S. Ca the place to do it is Envisage designs labs in Torrence. Professional, clean job. I recently had a piece that was torn due to a scrape and he repaired it for me for $15 (worked on it fot 30 minutes!)
So far after 3 months, no chips.

If you are worried about rock chips, then you should not even hesitate to do it. Repainting our bumpers could run about $500-$600 for the front bumper alone and once it gets repainted, it'll take about 2 months for the paint to cure.............this is the time when the paint is most vulnerable and softest.

Depending on your location, clearbras run between $550-$700. If you purchase it through the dealer, it could cost upwards of $1000 since they mark it up from their cost.

As for the 5 yr warranty, this is standard for 3M film. You could look into two other companies - Venture Tape & Llumar, which comes w/ a lifetime warranty. Avery is also another film manufacturer for paint protection, but I've seen their film yellow in the past..........that's why we switched to Venture.

Re: 3M clear shield opinion!!!
i think it's ugly especially when debris and wax get caught up on it. i have no rock chips after 2k miles.. waste of money imo

If you are getting debris stuck in your bra, you got a cheap bra. Also, don't use a wax that will show up on the line.
