I just got my Hawks Pds from tire rack... and found out that they are missing the metal clips on some of the pads

My front pads dont have any clips... yet 1 is in the box laying around

Rear pad only has 1 clip attached and the rest are missing.

Anyone know if they can be used... without the clips.

Personally, I'd send them back... When you say clips, are you talking about wear indicator? Or retaining clips? I think the retaining clips are part of the calipers, and can be re-used. I've never seen disc brakes with any type of retaining clips on them, other than the factory shim, which you can just take off your old pads if you wanted. Most aftermarket pads, I think say that you don't need to use the factory shim with them... If you are talking about wear indicator, then I probably wouldn't worry about it. Just as long as one of your front pads has wear indicators on it. And if not, just check your brakes more often.

 

r u talking about the clips that go into those little holes on the side of the pad?
if u had some clips already in the box, then the rest are probably lost, so i would return it if i were you, or call them up and get the clips sent asap.
