Cool What "other" mods can I do to my car for performance?

Aside from the usual 'intake' and 'exhaust', what else can I do? Do those spacers actually work?

I'm not interested in heat soak, so maybe i'll change the filter thats about it. Do our cars have true cold air intake alternatives? Well, besides I'm not interested in locking up the engine in case it floods. So intake is pretty much out of the question.

With exhaust, as much as I'd love to hear the engine more, exhaust doesn't really "do" much, just few hp's and the rest is sound for the ego. The topspeed one sounds delicious, but I don't want drone, the magnaflow/stillen seems decent though. But I don't know I like stock sound the best, just wish it was a tad louder.

So what else can I do besides the standard intake and exhaust? Thanks.

1/2" spacer, mrev2, headers, hfc's, and full catback with an osiris tune will do you some good. i have a friend with all of the above except headers and hfc's and is pushing 28x to the wheels. i know a z with all of the above pushing 305 to the wheels. oh yah, for what it's worth, both have intakes.

i've got stillen intake, crawford plenum, and invidia exhaust with a unichip tune pushing 233 to the wheels (although probably more if I had lighter wheels lol) once you get all the bolt ons you want, definitely get a tune, I think cobb and osiris have shown really good gains. my unichip gained me 9hp throughout the whole power band which was good, but I think you can get even more with osiris or cobb

Sweet, thanks for the responses. I've read 1/2inch spacer is mainly good for tc/sc. I'll definitely keep in mind the ecu tunes, I don't think 07 can use unichip though.

But why get the intake? If it just causes performance deficits? Intake volume note isn't all that important to me.

you don't need an intake. they are just for sound, the stock intake is better than most aftermarket intakes as far as performance goes. get a plenum spacer, HFCs, catback exhaust, maybe headers/cams/pulleys, and a tune and you'll be set

I have Intake, lower plenuim manifold /w 5/16th spacer, exhaust /w HFC..stage 1 clutch /w lightweight flywheel..
question is...
I have headers but didn't put them on yet..if i'm staying NA for a while.. should i keep them off? I heard it lowers your low end power if your not FI..Or is this a lie? I plan on getting osiris tune..but want to know if i should put headers on or keep off..

Yeah headers lower low end power, but increase high end. Thats how its always been. But it also depends if you're getting street headers or racing headers.

Smaller the piping the earlier the power but the quicker it ends. Bigger the piping the later the power and the longer it stays.

For 1/4 mile times.. Better with no headers or with headers? Where would you consider "High end" power to start? or "Low end" to end.. lol

I don't know are they racing or street? They should say.

And for 1/4th mile, racing headers, no headers have no scavenging.

High end is past the one half mark of your tach, and low end is less than the one half mark of your tach.

All engines, cars, piping, timing, etc etc etc, are different. You need to tune it.
