Tailpipes dont match?
Tailpipes dont match?
ok this may be a little **** sounding...BUT
as u look at my car from the rear the tailpipe on the right is lower to the ground then my left tailpipe...its actually quite noticeable and for me to notice it recently then it musta happened recently because its pretty noticeable while standing behind the car...i even knelt down to eye level with the pipes and saw that the right one dips lower then the left...
any one have an ideas on why? or is this normal or is it not a big deal?

Re: Tailpipes dont match?
there is nothing to worry about, but I have taken it in several times and alot of dealerships will just hate you for being ****....I basically gave up after they weren't willing to do anything about it.....unless there is someone who knows of a better dealership in So. Cal that is willing to change the muffler out. I usually go to Metro Infiniti in Monrovia.
Re: Tailpipes dont match?
yes an autobody shop told me that it comes from the factory like that...
after installing my new bumper, they told me that they realigned my tailpipes, and that its adjustable...
you guys got a whole new muffler???
04 / BO / G / aero / splash / prem / perf / cc / 22%tint

Mine too....
When I installed my Greddy exhaust, I just took a breaker bar and tweaked the exhaust hanger on that side a bit. Now it sits dead level.

DJNOOCH,
Good luck with having Infiniti adjust it as I went to two different dealers in NC (where I live) and they basically gave me stares like I was crazy. My friends and I can certainly tell there is a difference, but Infiniti just feeds me the line that it would take too much trouble to fix as it "wasn't" adjustable.
After hearing some others from here, it sounds like Infiniti lied to me yet again. Whats the big deal with them adjusting it out for me? Oh well....I am forced to either live with it, get a whole different exhaust system, or find a respectable body shop. Either way, it will probably cost $$$. After my episode today with my gas-door not opening, I am getting serious doubts about the quality of my ride.
Good luck.

Re: Tailpipes dont match?
Guys,
Don't know who told you this, but the muffler tips are NOT adjustable. As a matter of fact, when I brought the car in for service, I asked about that "adjustablility", and the service rep and couple of techs told me NOT TO try to adjust it. The simple proof for that was that they just ordered a new muffler for me. Didn't even attempt to adjust it.
My suggestion to you is if you want it fixed, take it to the dealer and have them replace it. Mine was replaced under warranty without me paying a dime.
Good luck.
