Re: Clearbra
Paid $350 for just my front bumper, but this guy has done a Zillion cars including Ferarris and Lambos and is quite independent.. Thus, a good job and a little bit of a higher price. I'm a perfectionist, and quite satisified.. Also... NO PAINT CHIPS! after my install.

Re: Clearbra
The $1,000 quote sounds about right. I got mine done at California Tint in Great Falls, Va. I had the front fenders, hood, mirror, front grill area and door edges done and it was a little over a grand. Talking to the installer, it seems that there is not much competition in our area so the prices are set and the choices are limited.
On top of that, this guy had the franchise with the machine that cuts out the templates for various model cars. Other installers come to him to by the kits to install on cars.
Note, the clearbra looks best on light color cars. Black and dark blue can present a problem if the car design has a lot of complex curves (aka the G35 Coupe). The clear bra material is pretty thick and it does not flex like Saran Wrap. When you really stretch it over complex curves it show little stretch marks. You wold never see this on a silver, gray or pearl car but on black it can look like little white bubbles or marks in places.
With a good install, you get very few and can hardly see them. The other options is the sprakle effect of thousands of tiny paint chips.

Re: Clearbra
I paid just under $500 for front bumper, hood, headlights, mirrors, and custom strips on front roofline, under door handles, on the a pillars, and on the rear splash guards. I know they gave me a deal, but I've had some issues since the coupe kit from xpel doesn't seem to contemplate the chin spoiler.

Re: Clearbra
I got mine on eBay cheap and did it myself. The Coupe one is bigger and looks like more of a pain, but maybe you could get one and go the the co that said 1100 and ask them for a price if you supply the marerial.
This is where I got mine
1100 is crazy!! I balked at 700 for my wifes sedan so i got the stuff and gave it a whirl. Not 100% perfect but it looks good and is doing its job!
Yes I am cheap....
Good Luck!

Re: Clearbra
I've had one since I bought my car (Feb '03). I had the bumper, forward fenders, mirrors and 2' of the hood done, for $640. Mine was a custom-fit, with all the edges wrapped.
Since I've had in on, I can't count the number of dings it's protected against - one object was big enough to tear the clearbra, but left no mark on the paint.
Considering the comments on here about chips, I'd say it's money well spent.

Re: Clearbra
you're getting robbed if you're going to pay over a thousand dollars for the clearbra + installation!!! on average, i've seen it done for about $500-600. you figure the kit costs us about $300 and definitely costs the installers less. so, the extra $300 is for labor sounds about right. to pay $800 for the labor is ridiculous!!!!
i am 100% sure you can find a better deal!!!!
