cost to install double din kit with nav
Hey,
I'm new to the car custom scene. I just got a DD kit for my 05 sedan and a Pioneer Avic F700bt. How much should it cost for a shop to install it? First quote I got was $550 (includes adapter for steering wheel controls, but that shouldn't be too much extra). I was hoping a lot less. Any help on a reasonable cost?
Thanks!

I just paid $175.00 to have mine installed so yeah thats WAY to high. Hate to high jack this thread but since we are on the subject. Is there no way to keep the stock pop up navi in these cars when putting a DD in? I bought a Kenwood dd with no navi cause I already had the factory navi, but when they installed the Kenwood they said there was no way to keep the factory navi. I know I should post this in the audio section but seeing this thread got me curious.

I did mine myself. In all honesty if you have some knowledge about installing head units and you do your research the install should go smoothly. I have an Eclipse AVN6620 (i'll have pics up in another thread soon with a bonus!) and it was installed in about 3 hours from start to finish. The hard part is getting the wires to fit and running the nav dongle. I also have the ipod addon and had to find a place to stash all of it. Get a 6 pack, crack on some music and make an afternoon out of it. You will appreciate it much more when you are finished.
