Pop Charger or K&N Drop In???

Hey guys I'm beginning to modify my coupe and I'm trying to decide which gives the best bang for the buck. Also... does the JWT P/C have the problem with touching the AC line like so many other intakes??

Why yes.... I AM a rocket scientist!

Nah, keep the stock airbox and filter... no probs with the 350Z intake tube rubbing against the A/C line.

Re: Pop Charger or K&N Drop In???

K&N filter has been no problem at all on my 6MT Coupe. Dynojet with stock filter was 2 RWHP less (on the same same day within 30 minutes of each test) than after addinf K&N filter to stock air-box. With no other mods my RWHP is 239.8....
As they say...Individual Results May Vary....

I can't disagree more....
I tried both and I think the K&N drop in is a much better option, especially if you drive in hot weather a lot.

Re: Pop Charger or K&N Drop In???

I agreed with OldVFRGuy, K&N engine air filter does the better job. I changed the air filter after 7800 miles and I couldn't believe that it has sooo much dirts on the stock filter. I changed the filter within 10 minutes and I felt the difference...or maybe it just my mental. I say go for K&N because if you use Pop-charger, you'll need to install heat shield as well.

peace

k&n is the way to go... dont get a poop charger, it sucks in the heat from the engine bay, even with the "heat shield" installed...

z-tube / k&n drop-in / Eclipse AVN / side-blinker mod

K&N and a slight modification to open it up a bit...but still sealed to hood to keep hot engine air out and slight ram effect in.....and it works and sounds great!

And for those who say that the OEM design is the best for cooler air, remember that these are the same guys who designed the venting conflaguration for the interior of the car.

I think we can all agree that that sux.

Someone design a mod that gives me cool air from the vents, and I'll be first in line.

Uhhh... what's wrong with the vents? I live in Vegas, which means I can't live without AC, and I haven't really had any problems with it.

Re: Pop Charger or K&N Drop In???

Yeah about the vents.... I just had my tints put on yesterday and i was forced to use the A/C (I love drivin around w the windows down....plus it saves gas!) and i had no problem with gettin cold air over me.... as for the leather seats that's another story, should've learned from mercedes benz and done heated AND cooled seats!
