uhh a filler neck tube is not gonna fix the problem. there are 2 fixes to this problem. which my 04 brembo coupe does after about 10 gallons. there is an updated cut-off valve that is on the inside of the tank from the filler tube, and an updated bracket that also goes on the inside of the tank on another valve in the middle of the tank. this is common on Gs and Ms. i know....imma infiniti tech.

Yeah the TSB on this looks quite involved and a pain to do.

its not all that bad actually. maybe its just easier to me since ive done them before. i could have them both put in in like 15 min and most of the time is takin the seat and fuel pump out. lol the coupes...ill admit....do make the job a bitch since you cant lay directly on top of the tank *no back doors * cuz ur gonna be up to ur elbow in that gas tank. just make sure u have 1/8 tank or less if/when u do it.

same problem happened to me as well when i decided to have a peak inside my fuel tank to see if the thing was clean inside after 50,000 kms

when i put the fuel pump back in, i put it back in the wrong way. there is a wire which runs around the fuel pump if i remember it goes around it clockwise, and i put it back in anti-clockwise. this then blocked off some hose which sends the correct reading to the fuel sender. i only got 1/2 tank full on the gauge when i filled up the whole tank.

now interesting enough, i fixed the problem by just putting it back in the right way. had to replace the o-ring because it swelled up after fuel got onto it. whats more interesting, is that i used to never be able to full up my car past the F but now it goes past the F like a normal car would. happy i managed to kill 2 birds with 1 stone for some reason!

the fuel pump has notches that fit for the bolt holes...just make sure it goes back in with that hose towards the rear like it came off and the ring fits on it since it has flat spots on the sides....pretty straight forward.

Ok now that a lot of people complain about this issue I will tell mine (not to jack your thread bro.) I always fill my Gas in "Shell" since i got the car (w/ no problem) when I traveled to SD I have to filled my gas to "chevron" about quarter empty( it only fill me to half and stop won't fill anymore). I ignore it because I always go to "shell with no problem. Yesterday 10/01/09 I filled my gas coz i ran out I went to "76" and it only gave me 11 gal. so what i did Just run to the nearest shell and filled my gas.. My point is why I don't have problem filling my tank with shell.. "weird i should say."

I got a similar issue, now i'm afraid to take it to the dealer and I don't have warranty..

If I go to the dealer, and they didn't fix the issue after the first time and they say it's another unit that they must change are they suppose to charge you for the new component ???

After 5-6 try I hope they don't charge you all those components since it's their mistake for now fixing the issue at the first place. Or I'm just wrong ...
