Z-Tube and Dealer

So it looks like my 6MT might be burning oil , and I have a ztube installed (with the stock airbox), do I need to put the G-Tube on before taking it in, or do they not care.

Putting stock airbox will do good, but I dont really think they gonna complain about z-tube. If you need stock G-tube for temporary, PM me

No. If they give you **** for that, I would raise hell since it's an OEM NISSAN 350Z intake tube

I had the same ques a few months ago.
They "shouldn't" give u grief for it, but it all depends on the dealership.
Even though there is no correlation between OC and having a z tube installed I decided to play it safe and put my OEM back on.
I figured it only takes 10 min of my time.

I had no problems with the z-tube.

They tried every other thing they could think of to deny the problem but left the z tube alone

I can't imagine they'd make that an issue...

I'm currently in a loaner getting my valve covers replaced under warranty, no questions asked. I have a Z tube, MREV2, plenum spacer, high flow cats and exhaust.

ur lucky they didnt deny you.
i remember one of the members on here posted about being denied a new engine because he had HKS exhaust.

overall, take off everything that they COULD use against you.

just get the service managers name and email corporate a "really nice" letter on how you were treated. Its not like your the only 6mt that is burning oil

that is always an option.
but do u really want to wait like MONTHS to get your engine

when u can just walk in with no mods, and get a new engine within a WEEK.

your choice?

No. If they blamed the OC on the Z-tube, they would have to admit that a genuine Nissan part was causing oil consumption, and that they are mass-selling it. They wouldn't do that.

They may try to claim that the mod(s) was/were for racing purposes therefore the OC is due to abuse. That's some of the crap the dealer pulled against this guy.

There's a big difference if it's a Nissan part, vs. an HKS part.
