Should I Worry About High Mileage-G35"s
My son is looking for a G35 Coupe. I see plenty of used ones in his price range with between 50,000 and 80,000 miles. Should I have any concerns with this amount of mileage from a maintenance standpoint.
Not especially, but you'll want to check if the regular maintenance has been done. Also, if they haven't already been replaced, you'll probably need to budget some cash for new struts and a few suspensions arms (aging bushings), as well as spark plugs. These engines have timing chains, not belts, so that is a good thing from a cost standpoint.
I bought my sedan with 80K+ and now it has almost 100K and it has been pretty much trouble free. I've given it maintenance and changed a few things that have been making clunks and rattles but I have yet to be stranded and I feel my car is VERY reliable.
(speak up i know you are out there!
)just make sure the G is regularly maintained and has the oil changes when they are scheldued.
make sure the car hasn't been modded.
and the 05+ come with a rev up engine which is rare, but some are prone to OC (oil consumption)
Might want to get one that still has the power train warranty. (6yr 70K miles).
I also worry less about my kid's cars with AAA Prem. on them.
I dont worry about Nissan/Infini motors at all. My first cr was a Sentra that I raced every wensday night at the track and street when ever I could. I traded it in with 248k and it still ran perfict
Then the Maxima I had next I sold with 180k and ran perfict
So in a nut shell im not worried about my G at all.

Majority of the car should be fine. My family has a 240k mile Quest, a 160k Xterra, 110k Altima. So Nissans will last. But like some guys have already mentioned, just make sure you have some money set aside for nickel and dime stuff.

Screwed Tude....?
I don't understand this attitude, everything I've changed on my G35 is better than what the factory installed. From the suspension, shocks, sways, adjustable endlinks, adjustable a-arms, toe adjusters for the rear and differential cooler/cover. Engine, spacer (fixes Nissans design error) exhaust, (stainless dual system) intake, (cleans incoming air better than OEM) If I were looking for another coupe I'd be happy/elated to find one like this! Oh yea, wheels/tires when was the last time you found a car with Michelin PS2 and wheels that ran perfect....that's far better than OEM! Your opinion about buying a modded car is just wrong....

^I know its off topic but gary c is right about most of the modded G's.
But we all know a lot of people that mod there car do not do it right or even safe way, so its a good idear to look into there mods if any imo.

gary , you gotta think about it in a bigger perspective. A lot of people dont mod their car the right way or safety.
for example, theres some people that cut springs just to get their car lowered?
cant think of any examplesand factory tires are horrible. its like that for the majority of cars, they just put the tires on so they are there.
