Chip On Hood - Best Way To Touch Up
Chip On Hood - Best Way To Touch Up
Hi All,
I got a nice little chip in my hood (damm PA turnpike!). I have the touch up paint from Dealer. What is best way to touch up the chip? Fill in with tookpick or just use the brush from touch up paint? Is there a method of getting it to look somewhat ok?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Been discussed here before, try search. I use #2 artist brush (more precise). Just be patient and layer paint. Here's one method:

regardless of color, use a toothpic.. and if it is really really small... leave it alone.. sometine fooling with it makes it worse and more obvious...

I agree with bocatrip, I have an Ivory Pearl, and the touch up Paint is two stage, base coat, clear/peal coat. It never seems to match exactly, and if you mess with it too much, it actually looks worse than if you just left it alone........
Some same chips I have on my front bumper (size of a pinhead), I touch up with a sliver of a toothpick, and just use the base coat to cover the black bumper color. It seems to work fine on the small inconspicous spots, but bigger chips are a disaster....
