If OldVFRGuy reports a 30 % decrease in air temp, why in the world do you not believe him? The insulation is protecting the air from being further heated by the engine compartment, guys, so it SHOULD make a difference in the combustion efficiency.

It doesn't matter if it is July in Mexico - it is still hotter in that engine compartment.

does anyone work with plastics and know how to chop off everything below where the filter is on the G35 stock intake box and cover it up with another piece of plastic to creat a pressure effect? that would give us a nice grow i think and perhaps a itty bitty tiny bit of extra power =)

Well, if that look works for you, then it's all good. Personally I don't want have to tell people why I have aluminum foil all over the intake to make the car go faster. If that means I have a slower car than woopidoo! Guess I am not much of a drag racer or I just don't get it.
