WOW! 350Z airbox install

WOW.......this 350Z airbox REALLY wakes the car up! You have to do this mod, I am now convinced this is why the G is rated at 280 and the Z is rated at 287! The extra sound is awesome too!

Re: WOW! 350Z airbox install

You're referring to the Z-Tube, right? I installed that this last weekend. Extremely easy to install. Finally installed my Grounding Gear kit at the same time. Nice minor improvement and doesn't cost too much.

Re: WOW! 350Z airbox install

I actually took out the entire G35 airbox and all and installed the entire 350Z airbox. The 350Z has much less restriction and I was amazed on how much was taken out and how little had to be put back in!

Doesn't the 350z box draw air through a hole in the fiberglass frame? Wouldn't this hurt airflow? Just guessing here, I'm not disputing you if you feel gains.

Re: WOW! 350Z airbox install

A good buddy of mine that I happen to work with has a Z and he put an intake in his, so he gave me his stock stuff! I was looking on here and saw one for $35, check the parts and accessories forum?

Re: WOW! 350Z airbox install

Good question? My buddy also installed it for me and said that it pulls air from the front left wheel well and given that position, it should be quite cool as well?

Granted, I have only put 300 miles on the car since I bought it on Sunday, but those were 300 spirited miles and this airbox DOES make a difference in power!

Re: WOW! 350Z airbox install

I think that my modified stock air box and intake insulation to help heat soak wooks best ........and believe me ....I have tried all kinds of intakes and mods to see what works best.

I am sure the thermo insulation on that intake runner works for you..... but I'd be too embarassed to open my hood with that intake.

Re: WOW! 350Z airbox install

Last time I checked the hood was shut when you raced. I've shown my underhhod to about 1 group of 8 people one time. Some are in it for show I guess and some just want a kick *** car. If I was into "show" I'd get a GTO or just start hot roddin..

Re: WOW! 350Z airbox install

I don't get it either. Where is opening for the air to come in?
Even the Air duct (center piece) has been removed...
I can see how it isolates heat better than say... a JWT PC, but it looks like there is a real decrease in air flow...
