the m3 is an AT also which helps a little on the track. but it is also on i different level now with the v8 and price range

AT only has an advantage in straight-line acceleration...drag racing. When it comes to tracks that have curves where you have to slow down, the advantage go to MT, because ATs take forever to down-shift.

If that M3 has the SMG, then that's another story, because the SMG doesn't have a torque converter. The torque converter is the reason why ATs downshift so slow.
