Almost Hit The Freeway Wall!!!!!

Well it almost happened...
So its raining this morning when i went to work and the light rain makes the ground wet and slippery. So im just and i feel the back in wiggle every now and then. So im doing about 60 around a turn and it happens... My butt on the G started to come up front lol so i react fast i down shift to 3rd and let the trans slow me up instead of the breaks and my butt straightens out and i regain control of the car... Luckly i was already deep into the turn or it woulda been me and the wall definately. I thought i was the **** when i pulled it out

So i finally get to work and start to investigate my car now i have 20 inch wheels and wide wheels in the back i will post the specs tomorrow. Anyways i lay on the ground to check if my tires are bald even i know they arent because they are like 4 months old BUT!!!! I notice my back driver side tire has tread and maybe wire showing.. BUT THESE ARE NEW TIRES.. i dont get it i got it aligned around last month so i have no idea what it could be..any ideas.. BEFORE i buy any new tires i would like to get the problem fixed.. The passenger rear is fine the front 2 are fine.
NE IDEAS

Did you get your alignment done at a reputable shop? And did you get a readout of your camber settings after the service? If your camber, toe, etc. is within OEM specs, there is no reason why only one of your wheels would wear out in such a quick amount of time.

Something must be off, and if you didn't get a readout after your alignment, I would be very suspect of the shop you went to.

I will scan the readout and have the tire specs posted tomorrow.
I have no clue what camber.. and toe are... i never understood the real reason for camber kits but if that reduces wear im all for it

100+ MPH turns off the track, FTL... Please be safe and considerate of other motorists. Sounds like you need a camber kit and a good alignment. That's all.

SPC camber kits are great and provide the adjustment that you need to give your tires good, even wear. Prices on rear kits range from $140-180. $140 is the pricing you're going to see for a used set from a member on the markeplace. $180 is for a new set. Expect to pay $300-400 for a front camber kit (A-arms with adjustment).

Any decent/good suspension shop should have no issue installing them for you. There are some fairly easy DIY's posted here on Driver for installation of both front and rear camber kits as well (if you want to save some money on the installs).

If you're running through your rear tires I highly suggest purchasing and installing a rear kit and getting a good alignment. Before you leave be sure to get the alignment numbers from the shop that does your alignment.

Dif Lock? Did you pop the clutch or let go of it to fast? If so, you rear end would have locked up due to the sudden increase in rpm's. You're tire wear doesn't help either.

I don't think you have any problems with the car, I think the problem is that you were driving too fast, around a turn, in the rain, in a rear wheel drive car. That combination will definitely bring the rear out, new tires or not. Take it easy in the rain, this car has enough power to get you in trouble quick, even with the vdc on.

I think you misread the thread. He bought new tires 4 months ago and now they are down to the strings which did not happen cause he lost the rear in the rain.

I call BS. If you're going into a turn that fast and your rear end starts to kick out and your but is puckered because you're about to tag a wall, nobody takes the time to downshift into another gear after the rear end is already slipping out from you.

Why the hell would someone write 3 paragraph thread about something that didn't happen?

No everyone trips out when their *** is beside them.
