My new Coupe should be arriving today or tomorrow. I've been lurking for several months and been following the threads about paint chips, so have decided that a bra is probably in order. I don't think I want a Clearbra, so who makes the best quality traditional bra for the Coupe, and is there a good online discount source ?

The Colgan is definately the best fitting car bra on the market for the G. I have had one before on my turbo eclipse and now have one of the new carbon fiber look bra that I use for longer road trips on my G and have been completely satisfied. Just be cautious with the bumper portion, the upper part that you have to insert near the light is very tight and tends to get debris in it which will leave small scratches in the clear coat. What I do now is put some green body tape there to protect it on long trips. I actually have the clearbra now on the bumper only, that way I do not have to worry about driving around town and getting nics,not on hood because I do not like the line which shows up more on dark cars. I have to disagree, keeping your car waxed my minimally help with rock chips, but in genereal it ain't going to do much. I have always keept my cars waxed and still have chips, and nothing significantly less than non waxed cars. The only indirect method that I would say somewhat prevents rock chips is to follow farther behind the cars in front of you. Clear Bra or Bra are the only real ways to prevent chips, especially with our below standard paint jobs on our cars.

 

I agree w/ you on this one. Rocks or road debris on the freeway can be hurled onto the front end of the car at up to 150 mph.........wax, sealants and any other paint chemicals are made to protect the car from environmental pollutants.........it's not strong enough to block this type of torture on freeways.
