Re: How to Remove the clear plastic?
WAIT!!!! Don't remove that! If you look around here, you will see many threads regarding clear bras (for the front of the car). This thin layer of "vinyl" will help protect the paint from rock chips and debris! It is a life saver, especially where they placed it! The engineer that designed that piece probably makes over 100K a year. If you remove it, you'll be taking his job away! lol
Anyway, with 12K now on my car, I regret not getting a clear bra! It's not cheap (350-750) for the front. If I had to guess, I would think those pieces by the rear wheels are worth about $25 a side! If you do remove, your paint will look like crap within a year!

Re: How to Remove the clear plastic?
The problem is...
mine started to peel away, and plus dirt and brake dust would start to get under the protective piece... after a while you could see a distinct black line of dirt, and a noticeable patch of dirt where it was peeling away even more...
It definitely is an eyesore when you have an Ivory Pearl Coupe... UGLY!
I had mine taken off when I had my body kit installed (so I'm not sure how much it would cost individually), so I guess I will suffer the consequences later....
take it easy...

Re: How to Remove the clear plastic?
Just pull it off slowly. Have some adhesive remover ready as residue will be left behind. Simple as that!
