Is the battery covered under warranty/extended warranty?

I have an extended warranty on my 04 G35c and it has the original battery.
I feel like it is starting a little slower now.
I read something about the battery being covered/prorated under warranty. Is that correct?
In that case, when is it the time to replace it? Do we need to wait until it dies to justify it to the dealer to replace it?

I believe the OEM battery is only covered for a maximum of 4 years (it's a consumable product) and prorated for those 4 years too.

how do you know if your battery is starting to deteriorate?

sometimes when im driving my oem head unit will just shutoff, and i can only turn it on and control it with the buttons on my steering wheel
i have to turn the car off and on to fix it
