Car will not start

Hi guys, I'm hoping you guys could point me in the right direction. My car intermittently does not start. It will crank, but will not fire up. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

battery would be my first guess if it is turning over, you can go to your local auto parts store and have it tested to see if yours is putting out enough voltage (im assuming you dont have a micrometer).

Another thing would be to make sure you HAVE gas in your car, it has been known to happen from time to time. Dont be THAT guy.

That would be where i would start!

If the car is cranking, it's not his battery.. unless it's cranking way too slow to catch.

battery is my best bet too, if you want take out the battery and take it to a autozone or pepboys and have em check it to see if it has good or not...also were u using the radio or other electronics in the car without the car turned on..if so, THAT drained the battery.

The battery could put out enough voltage to crank over the motor but not enough to start. This just happened to me with another vehicle.

I'm gonna go with battery as well. Had the exact same problem until I changed the battery about 2 weeks ago.

I'm having a similar problem with my 04 6MT. I try to start it but there is no crank/any noise at all. So I went out and got a new battery since I haven't replaced my battery ever since I got the car. Replaced the battery but still getting the same problem. Sometimes it starts right up, but sometimes I have to try and few times.

Could it be the clutch sensor that's bad? Not reading that I have the clutch fully depressed...? What else can it be? Oil in spark plugs like code said??? =(

My battery died two days ago and got it tested, it has the voltage but didn't have the cold cranking amps which is what turns the engine over

Make sure you got gas in tank. Also check fuel pump.

Thanks for all your advise guys. I replaced the battery several months ago, so I doubt it's the battery, and I did have gas in the car. I'll check out the fuel pump and spark plugs as code suggested. Any other advise would be great. I'll give you guys an update when I get this thing fixed.

Where did you get the battery from as the ones from Advance/Auto Zone have had bad cells....don't rule out the battery until you test it.

slow, weak crank is probably your battery.
