i called everything g35 yesterday to order just so i can tell them that i wanted the gen 2 nismo cai. they said ok, and my package arrived today.
opened it up and it looks like gen 1.
should i just install this or send it back and demand gen 2?

IMHO if you wanted a V.2 then ask for a V2 since that's what you agreed upon before. Don't install anything you don't like or you might regret it. Just my two cents...

 

Once they forgot something in my order and got it out to me the day after I called them about it. I bet if you call them and they have it in stock you'll have your gen 2 quick.

 

yea i ordered my intake on thursday, and it got to my house the next day.
i was gonna just install this gen. 1 but i can get this for a cheaper price on other sites so i'm just going to call them back and request the gen 2.

what a hassle.....

 

I'm sure they'll take care of you. When they messed up on mine, they gave me free shipping on my next order.

 

I agree, that returns are a hassle and time consuming etc. Why not get a credit for the difference and install the Gen 1 edition.
I doubt you'd notice any difference in performance between the 2, as long as the version you have looks good enough for you.

i was thinking of that...but they dont have a price for gen 1 and gen 2 separate. it's only 1 price listing of $275 for nismo intake, and that is why i called them to order the 2nd gen.
it's $250 everywhere else, but i duno if they'll give me back the difference.

and i was excited to install the intake.....ahhhh. now it's ruined.
is everything g35 open on saturdays? or else i'll have to wait till monday, which is more hassle to wait. *venting

 

Since they are the parts department of Scottsdale, Infiniti in Arizona, I'd figure they would be open Saturday.

 

If I was EverythingG35, I'd gladly refund the difference ($25) for the lesser intake, rather than the hassle and expense of shipping the old one back and the new one out.
Between man hrs and shipping, it's got to be worth at least $25 to them, (you'd think).

the gen. 2 cai has a built in maf housing so you dont need to use your stock one.

i called everythingg35 today and they told me they "repackaged" it wrong so the gen. 1 went into the gen. 2 box.
they told me to ship mine to them first, which will be on monday...sigh*** and wait for them to receive it, and THEN they will send me my gen. 2 intake.
oh well. they didn't give me a hard time at all about it tho at least. thank god.

 

Not that I don't think you should get what you ordered but if there is no performance differance why would anyone care to spend the extra to get a Gen 2?

i sent my gen. 1 cai back to everythingg35, and i was waiting for them to send the gen. 2, but they said all of the nismo cai they had were gen. 1, so i'm gonna go the z-tube route and get my refund.........
