I am new to the forum. I have an 04 G35 6mt coupe (purchased March 04 and has ~43k miles) and am reasonably happy with the car. I have had one irritating and unexpected bill outside of the warranty period to replace a leaking slave cylinder on the clutch. It kinda sucked. I have driven many MT cars over a long period of time and this is by far the earliest repair of a clutch component I have had to do.
The clutch/shifter is not too good, BMW MT is much much smoother. The shift from 1 to 2 is really finnicky. It seems to enjoy a relatively high rev at 1 which is weird for just casual driving. In other respects the car is much better to drive/maintain than a Bimmer...
Some questions:
Does anyone recommend changing out the MT fluid at this mileage (would it smooth things out?)?
I still have some time before my powertrain warranty expires - should I check that valve cover leaking into the plugs problem?
I probably need a brake job. Does anyone have experience with Satisfied GS6 pads or Hawk HPS street pads?
What about rotors? I see that tirerack recommends Power Slot Alloy Slotted Rotors or Brembo Sport Slotted Rotors (not sure I like the gold finish - does it accurately match the Brembo calipers?)

i just switched over to redline mt-90 tranny fluid... im quite happy
it's still not going to be as smooth as a bmw or a honda but it will be a lot better
yes check the spark plugs, it's won't take more than an hour
for the brembos, a lot of people run project mu NS pads, i have them, i love em... no dust and stop just as quick if not quicker than stock
rotors... i just ran centric premium blanks as i saw no reason to run slotted or drilled rotors

where can i get the mu ns pads? I have so much dust from the current pads... leaking onto my rims =\
