Smells like burning Anti Freeze

Long story...short
Washing and waxing the car. Pop the hood open to check the fluids. I take off my radiator cap to check the fluid and I didnt replace it correctly. Drive to my apt. which is like 10 mins away.. Start overheating. Check cap and put it on correctly. Still overheated. Next day goto walmart and buy antifreeze.. fill her up with antifreeze. No more overheating. But now when i drive the car i smell what smells like burning antifreeze. No overheating,no smoke when i open the hood, no leaks under the car. Its been a day so the antifreeze that bubbled over has mostly dryed. So what could it be?

Anti-Freeze Smell....=(

Overheating issue was caused by air in your radiator, by filling the system you removed the air bubble....easy huh. I'd wipe down your engine compartment and get rid of that fluid smell. Take off all the parts you can and clean every thing you can see/reach, you can tell I dislike that smell too.

Same thing is actually happening with me...I am a little worried. I have been smelling burn antifreeze outside the car. I have checked over and over again but cannot see any leaks. My coolant levels are all up, and the car does not overheat. I have done an oil change at the Infiniti dealership (first oil change), I would assume they would tell me if they did found a leak, what do you think? Should I take it back just in case?

Hey guys, just a follow-up...I have took my car to Infiniti dealership for service and they have looked the car in attempt to find any possible coolant leaks, because they did confirm during the visual inspection that the car smelled like antifreeze outside. (slightly)

They have found NO leaks (thanks God) however they noticed that the engine had some spilled antifreeze that could have been potentially causing the odd smell. Somebody did a bad job when topping off the colant levels. They have washed it out for me and now I can significantly note that smell is almost gone. The dealer confirmed that it might smell like antifreeze for few more days until it completely fades away. To be on the safe side I have asked them to do a complete flush of my coolant.

I hope this is the case with other fellow G35 owners that have complained here about antifreeze smell.
