Removing side moulding

My car came with it since it was on the lot at the dealership and I couldnt pass up the deal I got. I have been wanting to take them off but dont know how. Is there some sort of chemical to loosen the tape or any other way to get them off without ruining the paint below?

Thanks!

Re: Removing side moulding

Why do you want to remove it? I know that some people don't like the look, but I think that it looks fine and I can see where it has saved my door from parking lot dings so its definitely worth having on there IMHO.

Re: Removing side moulding

I removed BSM from my Corvette by simply letting it sit in the sun (it was black) for about 10-15 minutes. But a hair dryer/heat gun will work if the sun is not out. Then take some fishing line and run it between the BSM and the door. Once you get enough leverage, you can simply grab the BSM and gently pull it from the door. Lots of Goo Gone (3M Adhesive Remover is the best, but I could not find a local retailer), your thumbnail, and elbow grease and you are finished. I also made sure to polish the door once I was finished. Never could tell they were ever there.
