funky smell

I did a HUGE burnout a few days ago and now there is this funky smell from the car. OMG, what did I do? Did I kill the clutch and/or transmission? I have done burnouts and donuts before and the only smell was from the burning rubber...

Re: funky smell

Probably your clutch....A buddy of mine convince my friend to start in every single gear..from a standing still start. After starting in the 5th gear...is clutch was smoking and it smelt like crap. The car smelled for the next 2 days of that smell. Maybe thats what happened to u...clutch slip? or something...I dunno but maybe...

Re: funky smell

Yesterday, the odor was not as noticable and I didn't notice it at all today.

Re: funky smell

Chances are if that "Funky Smell" resembles burned fish, it's the clutch....I did it once. Never again! It is rotten and you'll never forget it.

Re: funky smell

Yea if the smells gone it was the clutch...Be more careful next time...otherwise ur gunna have to replace ur clutch a lots sooner. After my friend did that to his clutch...he brought his car in because the clutch was feeling weird...they had to readjust it...and they told him...he'd have to replace his clutch soon...his dad was giving him a look...LOL
